Hello Brothers and Sisters,
The "Stop the Colombia FTA" RR Action Call went out to all our locals on March 10. We've had various activity on this action, including visits with elected officials, letters, emails, and phone calls.
Please call or write your congressmen and urge them to vote "NO" on the Colombia FTA. Please also email me or call me with letters or responses you receive and also numbers of how many calls your local has made. I have included a script and the contact information for your representatives in your areas.
Call script (What you should say)
"Hi, my name is ______ and I'm calling to urge my Representative to vote no on the Colombia Free Trade Agreement" You can add that you are USW members, or that President Uribe needs to do more to stop the horrific violence against union leaders.
